How To Post to Flickr

If you are new to the online photo-sharing community, then this is the page for you. Here I’ll describe the step-by-step process of creating an account with Flickr, uploading your photos, and then sharing them so your friends can see the pictures you took.

First, you need to create an account. From the homepage at ‘www.flickr.com’, click the “create your account” button. There, you will be asked to enter your YahooID. If you already have a YahooID, enter it there with the password, and your account is ready for use. If you don’t have a YahooID, click the link at the bottom of the sign in box under the caption “Don’t have a YahooID?” Then complete the online registration form, and an email will be sent to you. Open the email, click the activation link, and then you are all set to start uploading to Flickr (you might need to sign into Flickr again once you activate your YahooID).

Once you are signed into Flickr, you can start posting pictures online. Click the “upload photos” link on your homepage, and then the “choose photos” link on the following screen. From there, you can locate the photo files on your computer, and select which ones you’d like to upload. Once you choose the photos, click the “upload photos” link, and then Flickr will do the rest. After the pictures are uploaded, you can tag them with captions, organize them in sets, and even edit them using Flickr and Yahoo’s photo editing software, Picnik.
